We always talk about freedom, but what does it mean to be free? Creating, expressing yourself in a personal language, could be the way to approach the concept of freedom that the artist has. In Gwladys universe, the laws that exist are laws of her own creation, generating the different constructive forms of concepts that give corporeality to her inner voice. What more pleasant than daily to build sand castles, make concrete, weld, and generate hybrid objects, personal testimonies of her day to day. The artist's office; the world.

The artist captures a moment, memorizes something temporary and shapes the landscape. Her pieces are characterized by being hybrid, which give the illusion of construction, believing that her pieces are in progress, that the only established thing that exists for her works is change, and at any moment she could continue working on her evolution.

Gwladys Alonzo [b. 1990] was born in France. With her studies in DSNEP, Higher School of Art and Design, Saint-Étienne, France, Marmara School of Art, Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, Istanbul, Turkey.
